Privacy Policy

Last updated: 25 October 2026

This policy explains what personal information SkillsAdda ("we", "us") collects through skillsadda.in, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

SkillsAdda is currently in an invitation-only beta. This policy covers the early-access list and everything you can do with a SkillsAdda account today.

What we collect

  • Early-access and "notify me" requests: your name and email address, and optionally what you want to learn, the categories you are interested in, your preferred language, and the campaign link you arrived from.
  • Your account: your name, email address, preferred language and password. Passwords are stored only in hashed form by our authentication provider; we cannot read them. If you continue with Google instead, we receive your name and email address from your Google account and no password is created. We also keep your account status and sign-in sessions.
  • Payments: if you buy a plan, the plan, amount, order and payment references, payment status and dates. Your card, UPI or bank details are entered on Razorpay's checkout and handled by Razorpay; we do not receive or store them. We pass your name and email address to Razorpay to fill in the checkout.
  • Learning activity: the courses you start, the lessons you open and complete, how far you have watched each video lesson, and any certificates issued to you.
  • Trading journal and trade plans: everything you enter about your trades and plans, including instruments, direction, prices, sizes, fees, results, your notes and reasoning, tags, and the chart screenshots you upload. This is information about your own trading activity. It is visible only to you.
  • Community content: the messages, replies, reactions and files you post in a Discussion Room, reports you make about other messages, your membership of a room and when you were last active in it, and whether you joined a call. Other learners who can open that room, and SkillsAdda moderators, can see what you post there, together with your name.
  • Creator applications: if you apply to teach, your profession, your answers to the application questions, and the verification documents you upload. Depending on the profession these can include a government-issued identity document and proof of your experience or results.
  • Creator content: the courses, lessons, videos, documents and profile text you publish as a creator.
  • Notifications and audit records: in-app notifications sent to you, and a log of administrative actions on accounts, creator applications, courses and subscriptions.
  • Usage analytics: pages viewed, a small number of sign-up events, the campaign link you arrived from (UTM parameters), and device and browser type, collected by our analytics provider (PostHog).
  • Abuse prevention: a one-way hash of your IP address, kept for a short period to rate-limit the public forms. We do not store your raw IP address with your signup.

How we use it

  • To create your account, sign you in and keep it secure.
  • To provide the features you use: courses and progress, the trading journal and tools, Discussion Rooms and calls, and creator publishing.
  • To verify that creators are who they say they are and are qualified to teach, before their courses are published.
  • To review reported content and keep the community safe.
  • To take payments for plans and give you the access you paid for.
  • To send you service messages, such as email verification and password resets, and emails when a new course or video you can open is published, which you can turn off.
  • To send early-access updates to people who asked for them.
  • To measure and improve the website, and to protect it from spam and abuse.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your trading journal for advertising or share it with other users.

Who can see your information

  • Other users: only what you choose to post in a Discussion Room, and, for creators, your public creator profile and published courses.
  • The SkillsAdda team: authorised team members can view account details, creator applications and their documents, courses under review and Discussion Room messages, in order to run the service. Administrative access requires two-factor authentication, and administrative actions are logged.
  • Service providers that process data on our behalf: Supabase (database, authentication and file storage), Vercel (website hosting), Razorpay (payments), Bunny (video lesson storage and streaming), Resend (email delivery), PostHog (analytics), LiveKit (voice, video and screen-share calls, when you join one) and Google (sign-in, if you choose to continue with Google). Razorpay keeps its own record of each payment under its own privacy policy.
  • Third-party content in your browser: pages load an icon font from Google Fonts, and the market chart tool loads a chart from TradingView. Your browser connects to those services directly, which lets them see your IP address.
  • Legal requirements: we may disclose information when the law requires it.

Cookies and local storage

  • Sign-in cookie: keeps you signed in. It is essential and cannot be read by scripts on the page.
  • Analytics: PostHog stores an identifier in a cookie and in your browser's local storage to count visits.
  • Preferences kept in your browser: some tools save their state on your device only, such as trade-planner drafts, checklist and chart settings, your position in a podcast episode, and the campaign link you arrived from.

Where it is stored

Account data, journal entries, community content and uploaded files are stored in a secured database and private file storage hosted by Supabase in the Mumbai (India) region. Uploaded screenshots, verification documents and lesson files are not publicly listed and are served through short-lived links to people who are allowed to see them. Our hosting, analytics and call providers may process data outside India under their own security and privacy commitments.

How long we keep it

  • Account, learning, journal and community data is kept while your account exists. You can ask us by email to delete your account and its data. During the beta our team carries this out by hand, and uploaded files are removed separately.
  • Creator verification documents are kept while you are a creator or your application is open, so that we can show the verification was carried out.
  • Early-access details are kept until you ask us to delete them, or until they are no longer needed.
  • Records of administrative actions, and courses that have been published, may be kept after an account is closed where we need them for safety, legal or accountability reasons.

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct or delete your personal data, to close your account, or to withdraw your consent, at any time by emailing contact@skillsadda.in. You can change your name, language and password yourself from your profile page. Account and data deletion is currently handled by request rather than from within the app.

Children

SkillsAdda is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18.

Changes to this policy

We will update this policy as the service changes. The date at the top shows the latest version.
